Empowering Mathematics Education in Bagerhat

Mathematics anxiety is a major challenge for many secondary and higher secondary students. A significant number of students struggle with mathematics, often resulting in poor examination performance, school dropout, and disengagement from education.

To address this challenge, Latif Master Foundation has launched an innovative initiative by establishing a Math Club that brings together mathematics teachers from across Bagerhat Sadar. The initiative will gradually expand throughout Bagerhat and eventually to other districts.

The Math Club aims to become a dynamic learning hub for both teachers and students. Mathematics teachers will meet regularly at the union level to exchange teaching experiences, share innovative classroom practices, discuss challenges, and develop practical solutions to improve mathematics learning. The program will also include exchange visits among educational institutions and opportunities for teachers to conduct guest classes in different schools and colleges across the district, promoting collaboration and excellence in mathematics education.

Today, a special meeting of the initiative was held at the Skill Institute of Technology, Foundation Square, (opposite the DC Office) in Bagerhat. Around 65

mathematics teachers representing various educational institutions attended the meeting and enthusiastically pledged to work together with the vision that no student in Bagerhat should fail in mathematics.

The meeting was facilitated by CPA Rafiqul Islam Jaglu, Chairman of Latif Master Foundation, and was chaired by Dr. Md. Faridul Islam, Founder of the Foundation and former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh.

This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of education through collaboration, innovation, and professional development, with the ultimate goal of building students’ confidence and success in mathematics.
