Halima Begum

Halima Begum is the wife of the late Md. Latifar Rahman. Latifar Rahman was a teacher. While he was alive, he launched an education scheme called “Latif Master Scholarship” in 2003. This scholarship was started in the village-centric Kandapara N. N. Secondary School and the city-centric Bagerhat Dashani Jadunath School and College to provide scholarships to poor, backward, but talented students of different areas. Numerous students from the Bagerhat district studying in various educational institutions, from Dhaka University to secondary schools, have benefited, are benefiting, and will benefit on a larger scale in the future by receiving financial assistance under the scheme called “Latif Master Scholarship.” Halima Begum, the wife of Mr. Latif Master, is the daughter of a talented title pass scholar and an education enthusiast and social worker. She Halima Begum is the widow of the late Md. Latifar Rahman, who was a devoted teacher. In 2003, he established the “Latif Master Scholarship” program aimed at supporting underprivileged yet talented students in the surrounding community. This initiative began at the Kandapara N.N. Secondary School in the village and the Bagerhat Dashani Jadunath School and College in the city. Through this scholarship, numerous students from the Bagerhat district, attending various educational institutions ranging from secondary schools to Dhaka University, have benefited, are currently benefiting, and will continue to benefit from financial assistance in the future.

Halima Begum, the wife of Mr. Latif Master, is the daughter of a dedicated scholar who valued education and social work. She has taught many students in Quranic education and is actively involved in educational and social initiatives. Halima has played a significant role in arranging marriages for the daughters of families with multiple children, as well as in efforts to combat child marriage. For her achievements in education, a private organization in Dhaka awarded her the “Ratnagarbha” award for successfully educating her three sons and two daughters.

During her husband’s lifetime, Halima was a constant source of encouragement and support for Mr. Latif Master in his educational and social endeavors. After his passing, she dedicated herself to preserving his legacy and continuing his philanthropic work. With the assistance of Mr. Latif Master’s family and friends, Halima has initiated the establishment of a voluntary, non-profit, non-political charitable foundation called the “Latif Master Foundation.” This organization aims to promote human welfare, social service, and community-building activities in honor of his memory and to ensure that his contributions to society remain alive and impactful.has taught many students in Quranic education and other education and is helping in education and social work. She played an important role in arranging marriages for daughters of fathers with many daughters and stopping child marriage. A private organization in Dhaka awarded her the “Ratnagarbha” award for educating all 03 (three) sons and 02 (two) daughters in her womb. She used to encourage and personally help Mr. Latif Master in his education and social work during his lifetime. After the death of Mr. Latif Master, to keep his active life, efforts, and memory alive and immortal and to institutionalize philanthropy, human welfare, social service, financial and community-building activities for the peace of his departed soul, with the dedicated efforts of Halima Begum and with the support of Mr. Latif Master’s worthy successors and his close friends, an initiative has been taken to form a voluntary, non-profit, non-political, exceptional, social and public welfare charitable and ideal institution in his name, namely “Latif Master Foundation.”
